TimeWarner (AOL)not anymore, should have proved to wall street if not main street that these types of deals are bad for consumers at every level.

Paddy Chayefsky must have had a crystal ball when he wrote “Network” (long before Internet, Tivo and 24/7 news cycles). I’m sure today he would want to smash it and just go get drunk. How in the hell can we even begin to think that a NBC / Universal / Comcast international congom-o-monster has any interest in doing anything remotely responsible with the amassed power they would hold.

I’ve been watching what’s goin’ on in Indie Film over the last few years as both observer and as a participant. I attend Industry events, festivals and market seminars like many others and try to stay current or maybe even get a step ahead (it’s not just for the hotel coffee and tasteless pastry). I will say that most of the real revolution (emphasis on evolution) has been happening in the documentary world.
