So, when they start ramping up the production for prequels 2 & 3 we can only hope that they’ll add a couple bucks to the hundred mil plus budgets for a story meeting.

As more and more filmmakers choose to bypass traditional distribution, either by choice or by lack of opportunity, the ability to gain needed reviews gets harder. Critics at newspapers and news outlets are notoriously negligent when it comes to reviewing independent films without a release date or major festival premiere. Combine that with the fact that many newspapers are on life support anyway, that online distribution is growing and you can see that another traditional workflow is dying.
