Feed the fish III

From a lighting standpoint, we have a well-rounded 5-ton package: two each of 4K and 2.5K HMI PAR lights, as well as some smaller HMI units and a set of four Kino-Flos. On the tungsten side, we have 5K Fresnels on down to the ubiquitous 650-watt Tweenie; I'm planning to shoot all the night interiors with tungsten lighting, letting the color go extra-warm while the HMI 'moonlight' is a clean, white light.

Feed the fish Part II

Twenty days on location may sound like a lot, but it’s a pretty brutal schedule… even though we have two days of shooting in Los Angeles coming, we still have about 80 script pages to do in those 20 days. That works out to be about 4 pages a day, which is respectable, but scheduling never works out so neatly.

Feed the Fish Part I

 I am currently shooting an independent feature film called ‘Feed The Fish,’ written and directed by Michael Matzdorff and produced by Alison Abrohams and Nicholas Langholff. The picture boasts a fantastic ensemble cast including Tony Shalhoub (‘Monk’) and Barry Corbin (‘No Country For Old Men’). ‘Feed The Fish’ is the story of a children’s book writer who, at the urging of his best friend, journeys from Los Angeles to wintry Wisconsin in order to break his years-long writer’s block. So we’re basing out of Sister Bay in Door County, Wisconsin during the worst part of winter, getting ready for a tough 20 day shooting schedule that includes day and night exterior work, an exploding shed, a live badger attack and four nice ladies singing in a bar.
